1. Scope
This Policy applies to every GCSB office, board, committee and panel role without exception, including President & Chair, Managing Director / CEO, the Registrar, Journal editors and peer reviewers.
2. Voluntary
Every role is held voluntarily. Appointments are offered and accepted freely, and an office holder may step down at any time on written notice to the Registrar.
3. Not paid
No salary, fee, retainer, honorarium, commission, share of revenue or other financial benefit is payable for service in any GCSB office, board, committee or panel role. Holding a role gives no right to payment of any kind.
4. Remote
All roles are performed remotely. Meetings, deliberations, reviews and hearings take place online; no relocation or regular on-site attendance is required.
5. Recognition
Voluntary service is recognised without payment. Approved Journal peer reviewers and editors receive an appointment certificate that can be verified publicly.
6. Conduct
Volunteers follow the GCSB Code of Professional Conduct, the Ethics Framework and the Conflict of Interest and Recusal Policy (GCSB-POL-003).
7. Document control
Policy authority: Governing Council. Effective date: 13 October 2026. Version 1.1 explicitly includes all GCSB offices within the voluntary, unpaid and remote terms. Review at least annually and whenever role terms change.

- Review date: reviewed at least once a year; next review no later than 13 October 2027, and whenever role terms change.
- Precedence: subordinate to the Governance Charter (GCSB-POL-001). This Policy governs the terms of every GCSB office; it does not govern the company's statutory or contractual arrangements.
