Announcement
The Global Converged Security Board has opened registration for the GCSB-Registered External Auditor (GCSB-EA) programme, the public register of independent auditors recognised to carry out GCSB Organisational Trustmark evidence reviews.
Who can register
The programme is open to experienced security, audit, assurance and risk professionals who hold no GCSB office and have no link with Converged Security Institute or any accredited provider. Requirements include:
- at least 5 years of professional experience in security, audit, assurance or risk;
- a GCSB CCSO credential or an equivalent recognised credential (for example ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, CISA or CPP);
- a signed declaration of independence and interests, renewed every year;
- CV and evidence of at least three audit or assurance engagements;
- a short remote interview with the Assessment Board.
Fees and registration
Application fee £195; annual registration £295 with CPD evidence. Each registered auditor receives a verifiable GCSB-EA-YYYY-NNN number and a listing on the public External Auditor register.
Independence
Auditors are engaged and paid directly by the client organisation at their own rates. GCSB registers, verifies and oversees auditors and never sells or delivers audits; tier and certification decisions remain with the independent Assessment Board. The independence rules in the Conflict of Interest and Recusal Policy (GCSB-POL-003, section 8) apply to every engagement.
Update - 17/10/2026
The £195 application fee is waived for the first 10 approved founding auditors. The £295 annual registration fee remains payable. Places are subject to approval and availability; this notice does not claim that all 10 places remain open.
